Food Shopping with Dairy in Mind

To answer the previous questions I posted, Oreos do have dairy in them (Chocolate is one of the ingredients) (http://www.nabiscoworld.com/Brands/ProductInformation.aspx?Product=4400000820)
It's better to check the label and know you can eat it than eat it and suffer the consequences later. Food is sneaky. Some foods that you don't think would contain milk do, such as Pop-Tarts. When you shopping, read the label carefully to make sure there are no milk products in what you are about to buy. I know it might be a little annoying but it will be worth it in the end.
Here's a list of hidden milk products that might be in your favorite foods:

  • Cream
  • Whey
  • Dry Milk Powder
  • Dry Milk Solids
  • Casein
  • Custard
  • Curds
  • Caseinate
  • Calcium Caseinate
  • Buttermilk
  • Lactulose
  • Nougat
  • Ghee
These ingredients are pretty sneaky. To find more ingredients to look out for, visit this site: http://www.godairyfree.org/dairy-free-grocery-shopping-guide/dairy-ingredient-list-2.
